With the theme “Catalyst for Change,” the conference brought together more than 25 world experts and thought leaders to explore innovative, sustainable solutions to healthcare-associated infection (HAI) prevention.

Airmid was proud to participate in this one-of-a-kind, multimodal event that sets the stage for interdisciplinary collaboration to combat infections across healthcare settings. This year’s program featured keynote speaker Dr. Myles Leslie, a healthcare sociologist from the University of Calgary, who shared research on improving communication and breaking down cultural siloes in healthcare systems.

A Systems-Level Approach to Infection Prevention

The conference took a systems-level approach to tackling infection prevention, focusing on the four main routes of pathogen transmission in clinical environments. With hands-on workshop sessions, attendees, including Airmid representatives, joined forces to brainstorm data-driven solutions. These sessions led to the formation of active workgroups, which are now developing funding proposals, collecting preliminary data, and planning publications to drive further impact in the field.

For Airmid Healthgroup, the HITS Conference was an opportunity to share expertise in environmental testing, bioaerosol research, and infection prevention, while contributing to the broader conversation on healthcare innovation and sustainability.

By engaging with multidisciplinary stakeholders and supporting applied research, Airmid continues to advance its mission to create healthier indoor environment, particularly in healthcare, where infection prevention is vital.
