Advancing Science: Airmid Healthgroup Research Featured at EAACI 2025
We are excited to announce that Airmid Healthgroup a leading Dublin-based biomedical research organisation specialising in indoor air quality and allergen testing, is set to participate in the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Congress 2025. The event will be held from June 13th to 16th at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, Scotland.
EAACI 2025, themed “Breaking Boundaries in Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology: Integrating Planetary Health for a Sustainable Future”, aims to highlight the critical links between environmental change and allergic diseases. As a participant, Airmid Healthgroup will have the opportunity to engage with leading experts, explore innovative approaches towards global health changes, and present their latest research findings which evaluate advanced fabric care technologies which mitigate the risk of asthma, as well as, air cleaning technologies on novel environmental allergens.
Poster Presentations at EAACI 2025 by Oliver Dsa, MSc

As part of the scientific program, Oliver Dsa, MSc, Senior Virologist and Infectious Aerosols & Bioaerosol Containment Expert at Airmid Healthgroup, will present new research that demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to improving indoor environmental quality and supporting respiratory health.
1. Evaluating Advanced Fabric Care Technologies for Effective Dust Mite Eradication to Mitigate the Risk of Asthma
This study evaluates the effectiveness of high-temperature vapour cycles in eradicating dust mites from household fabrics. Findings suggest a significant advancement in allergen control, offering practical strategies to reduce exposure and mitigate the risk of asthma, particularly important in homes where vulnerable individuals reside.
2. Evaluating the Impact of Air Cleaning Devices on Novel Allergens: Silkworm Allergen (Bombyx mori – Bom m 1)
This research explores how air cleaning technologies can effectively capture and remove airborne particles of Bom m 1, a novel silkworm allergen. The results highlight the potential of these devices to play a critical role in improving indoor air quality and reducing respiratory health risks associated with emerging allergens.
These presentations reflect Airmid’s ongoing mission to deliver evidence-based insights into how indoor air quality impacts allergic diseases, aligning closely with the EAACI Congress’s broader focus on sustainability and planetary health.
