Recognizing the intrinsic connection between health and the built environment, the International Healthy Building Accord has been drawn up to focus collective action, rallying global leaders across industries to prioritize and promote healthy buildings.

Driven by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) and fortified by the contributions of leading health authorities, this Accord outlines a roadmap for the future of healthier built environments worldwide. By having its foundations in extensive research and scientific evidence, it highlights the need for healthy buildings and identifies key focus areas and strategic policy actions to promote them globally. As a result,  it provides a comprehensive framework to advance the development of healthier built environments worldwide.

The Accord acts as a summons to policymakers and health leaders, urging them to embrace their responsibility in advancing the cause of healthy buildings. It highlights the crucial importance of strategic policy actions and seeks to garner support from a diverse array of stakeholders. These include public health professionals to architects, engineers, and business leaders.
