Dr. David O'Connor

Dr. David O'Connor is Assistant Professor in the School of Chemical Sciences at Dublin City University (DCU), with expertise in bioaerosol research and atmospheric chemistry. He contributes thought leadership articles to the Airmid Healthgroup blog.

His research interests include developing an Irish bioaerosol monitoring network and forecast, interactions between gaseous and aerosol phases in the atmosphere, characterising biological and chemical aerosols and their sources, and the atmospheric degradation of fungal and bacterial volatile organic compounds. One of his projects, BOHEMIAN, aims to produce the first Ireland-specific forecast model for allergy-related bioaerosols.
