Airmid Healthgroup proudly participated in Indoor Air 2024, conducting essential testing for groundbreaking research on air cleaning technologies, and looks forward to future collaborations to advance indoor air quality and public health
Indoor Air 2024, the flagship event of ISIAQ, was an extraordinary gathering that featured notable keynote speakers, engaging plenary sessions, and a diverse group of passionate academics, researchers, advocacy groups, policymakers, and practitioners. This dedicated community is committed to advancing the field of indoor air quality.
The conference was remarkable for integrating pioneering research with innovative practices, thereby bridging the gap between health outcomes and indoor environments. Key discussions focused on revolutionary air purification technologies targeting airborne pathogens and aerobiology, paving the way for healthier indoor spaces.
Highlights at Indoor Air 2024
A standout moment of the conference was Dr. John McKeon’s presentation titled “Evaluation of Air Cleaning Technologies for ASHRAE 241 Compliance via Performance and Safety Testing.” Co-authored by Gráinne Cunniffe, PhD, Principal Investigator with iAIR Institute, Angela Southey, PhD, Dr. John Ryan, and Dr. John McKeon, the paper underscores the critical need for rigorous and reliable assessment of air cleaning technologies. airmid’s world-class facilities and expertise were pivotal in conducting the crucial testing for this research, demonstrating our commitment to enhancing indoor air quality and controlling infectious pathogens.
Collaborative Research at Indoor Air 2024
ASHRAE Standard 241 emphasizes the importance of clean air, considering both outdoor air and air purified by various technologies to meet target levels of equivalent clean airflow (ECAi) in indoor spaces. The research presented by Dr. McKeon concluded that collaboration with established third-party laboratories, well-versed in viral testing and ASHRAE standards, is crucial for generating reliable and standardized data. airmid’s expertise ensures the efficacy and safety of air cleaning technologies in mitigating the spread of airborne infectious aerosols in indoor spaces.
This research is one of many studies and projects that airmid has been involved in, showcasing our world-class facilities and specialized testing capabilities. Our 20 environmental chambers and adherence to the latest standards, including ASHRAE 241, enable us to deliver cutting-edge insights and reliable data.
The product evaluated in this study was the Air Sniper Induct 300W/300W CC. We extend our thanks to Stuart Henley for commissioning this testing on behalf of Air Sniper and for allowing the sharing of the test data.
