Determination of antifungal activity of textile products
This standard specifies a test method to calculate the efficiency of antifungal treatments intended to prevent or mitigate the growth of fungi or reduce the number of fungi. It is applicable to various kinds of textile products such as fibers, yarns, fabrics, clothing, bedclothes, home furnishings and other miscellaneous goods.
Test Description
- The test (antifungal treated) and control fabric specimens are inoculated with a suspension of control fungal spores and inoculated for 48 hours at 30°C
- The number of fungi present after incubation is determined by the plate count method.
- The antifungal activity of the textile product is quantitatively determined according to the criteria in the standard.
