Description of the Allergen Removal test

Measurement of ability of a cleaning product to remove allergen burden from hard surfaces
Scope
- Testing is conducted in a chamber under standardized conditions (air exchange rate, temperature and relative humidity)
- House dust with a known concentration of allergen is applied to a known surface area
- Dry dusting and cleaning with water are used as controls
- The cleaning product is applied as per the manufacturer’s instructions and a standardised cleaning process is carried out
- Samples are collected using a PBS-Tween buffer
- The total recovered allergen is determined by immunoassay
Turnaround Time
4 weeks from receipt of samples
