Following the ASHRAE Winter Meeting, where I participated in discussions as a member of the Environmental Health Committee, I had the opportunity to attend the AHR Expo 2025 in Orlando.

Amid the latest advancements in HVAC and indoor air quality technology, I met with the Air Sniper team to discuss the scientific validation of their germicidal UV technology. Our collaboration had already led to significant findings presented at the ISIAQ meeting in Honolulu in 2024 and the American College of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology (ACAAI). Seeing their technology showcased on the AHR show floor reinforced how evidence-based solutions can drive real-world impact in indoor air quality.
Opportunity
Air Sniper sought to substantiate the performance of their UVGI systems in eliminating airborne pathogens, aiming to provide scientific evidence to support their product claims. This validation was crucial for enhancing market credibility and demonstrating the effectiveness of their technology in improving indoor air quality.
Our Approach

Airmid Healthgroup conducted comprehensive assessments of various Air Sniper units, including the Ultra, Inflow, and Induct 300 models. The testing involved:
- Controlled Chamber Studies – Utilizing state-of-the-art 28.5 m³ environmental test chambers, Airmid evaluated the air purifiers’ ability to remove aerosolized Escherichia virus MS2, a surrogate for harmful pathogens. The studies measured the reduction of airborne viruses over time, providing quantitative data on the units’ performance.
- Multi-Chamber Evaluations – For the Induct 300 model, tests were conducted in a setup of two interconnected chambers to simulate real-world air circulation. This approach assessed the unit’s efficiency in reducing viral loads across connected spaces, reflecting practical applications in HVAC systems.
Outcome
The rigorous testing demonstrated that Air Sniper’s UVGI technology effectively reduces airborne concentrations of surrogate viruses. The data indicated significant decreases in viral loads within controlled environments, validating the germicidal capabilities of the Air Sniper units.
Impact
These findings were shared with the scientific and medical communities through presentations at prominent conferences:
- ISIAQ Meeting 2024 in Honolulu – The research highlighted the role of advanced UVGI devices in enhancing indoor air quality, contributing to global discussions on environmental health.
- ACAAI 2023 Conference – The data underscored the potential of UVGI technology as a supplementary measure in managing airborne allergens and pathogens, offering insights into innovative approaches for respiratory health.
By partnering with Airmid Healthgroup, Air Sniper not only validated the effectiveness of their germicidal UV technology but also reinforced their commitment to advancing public health through scientific research and innovation.
Airmid Healthgroup’s expertise in aerobiology and airborne pathogen testing ensures that air purification technologies like those developed by Air Sniper are rigorously evaluated for real-world effectiveness. This collaboration exemplifies how scientific validation can drive innovation and trust in the field of indoor air quality.
