Bed Bug Viability Test
To investigate the viability of bed bugs at different life stages in response to a test product
All bed bug testing is performed in a specially designed chamber where both temperature and relative humidity are controlled.
Bed bugs at different life stages are placed into a petri dish containing various concentrations of the test product and a test control. Over a 24 hour time period the bed bugs will be monitored for signs of viability, bed bug eggs will continue to be monitored for a period of 14 days to determine the ability of nymphs to hatch from the eggs.
- The data generated by this test allows manufacturers claim verification that their product renders bed bug eggs nonviable and also affects the viability of other bed bug life cycle stages.
- Enables preliminary testing of a prototype product, comparison of different product forms and verification of product claims.
- Pilot studies progressing through to full-scale studies.
- This test also comprises image capture and video footage allowing visual recognition of claims.
Third Party Validation
After a successful assessment, the product can be labelled as having been tested by airmid in support of any claim relating to the test and data received.
4-6 weeks from receipt of sample (dependant on bed bug life stages)
