Máire Fox MSc is the Head of the Allergen Testing Laboratory at Airmid Healthgroup, where she leads a team of scientists dedicated to advancing research and testing methodologies for allergens in indoor environments and consumer products. With a strong background in molecular biology and analytical research, Máire brings a wealth of experience to her role, ensuring the highest standards in allergen testing and scientific analysis.
Máire graduated from Maynooth University (NUIM) with a BSc in Biology, where she developed a solid foundation in biological sciences. She began her career in laboratory analysis, holding key positions in the Biotechnology Unit at NUIM and the Vitamin Research Laboratory at Trinity College Dublin (TCD). Her early work provided hands-on experience in biochemical and microbiological testing, setting the stage for her specialization in molecular research.
Máire went on to complete a Master’s in Research (MSc) focusing on Prion Disease while working as a Laboratory Analyst in the Prion Research Laboratory at University College Dublin (UCD). In this role, she was involved in studying the complex mechanisms underlying prion-related disorders, contributing to vital research on neurodegenerative diseases.
Following her MSc, Máire continued her scientific career at the Department of Agriculture, where she conducted molecular investigations into Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) strains in Ireland. Her research played a crucial role in understanding the epidemiology and characteristics of BSE, further refining her expertise in molecular diagnostics and pathogen characterization.
As Quality Manager at Airmid Healthgroup, Máire Fox MSc is responsible for coordinating the activities required to meet and maintain quality standards across laboratory operations. She ensures compliance with industry regulations, oversees the implementation of rigorous quality control measures, and drives continuous improvements in testing methodologies.
