Ultrafine Particles (UFPs) are microscopic particles suspended in the air that are considered to be a specific type of air pollution.
These particles can be hazardous to human health.
Fine particles are often identified by Particle Matter (PM) ratings. The size of these particles is in the order of several nanometers to several micrometers. For example, the PM10 rating represents particles that have a diameter smaller than 10 micrometers.
Also referred to as: Ultra-Fine particles, Ultrafine particles and Ultra fine particles.
