Scope
Determines the extent of the efficacy of antimicrobial treatments on textiles

Products that can be tested
Textiles. Can be used for a wide variety products, textiles, fabrics or appliances.

Description of Test

  • A bacterial culture is introduced either by absorption or is transferred from an inoculated agar plate. The bacteria are subsequently extracted and total viable count determined.
  • The test method uses either Staphylococcus aureus or Klebsiella pneumoniae, however this can be adapted to include other bacterial or fungal species as requested by the client

Third Party Validation
On passing this test, the product can be labelled as having been tested by airmid healthgroup to BS EN ISO 20743:2013 (formerly BS EN ISO 20743:2007) in support of any claim relating to the test and data received

Turnaround Time
4 weeks from receipt of sample
