ASP:11:01

airmid healthgroup has been selected for data verification and certification testing for the asthma and allergy friendly™ certification program.

Dehumidifiers that are certified asthma & allergy friendly™ are tested to the ASP:11:01 Dehumidifier Certification standard. The Certification Standard utilizes an algorithm of proprietary and recognized scientific techniques to assess Dehumidifiers for their contribution to the goal of thermal comfort and indoor air quality. Products that pass certification testing are granted a certificate stating that the Dehumidifier meets the requirements for the asthma & allergy friendly™ ASP:11:01 Certification Standard.

Allergy Standards Ltd (ASL) subjects the dehumidifier to allergen measure based performance testing to ensure that the operation and maintenance of the product does not result in any significant increase in levels of airborne allergen. The dehumidifier is assessed in a standardised room and challenged with allergen-containing dust. The dehumidifier is also assessed for its ability to achieve and maintain RH levels with defined specifications.

The asthma & allergy friendly™ certification mark is awarded to those dehumidifiers that have been scientifically demonstrated to contribute to the goals of thermal comfort and indoor air quality.
The Dehumidifier Certification Standard includes:

  • Evaluating the capability of the dehumidifier to control relative humidity.
  • Assessment of the effect of an operating product on allergen levels
  • Assessment of potential exposures to the operator during product maintenance.

All certified asthma & allergy friendly™ dehumidifiers carry a unique certification code.
